Blended Symmetry Colored Pencil Drawings

With a pencil in my hand and paper as my canvas, I love the simplicity of creating intricate and abstract colored pencil drawings using a palette of blended symmetry and layered color variations

BOUQUET OF HYDRANGEAS

A palette of color picked from my favorite bouquet of pencils creates a cluster of hydrangeas attracting the natural beauty of butterflies from The Path.

ELEGANT POISE

Created while training for The Fourth Tri 2014.  My coach asked me to look up the definition of "poise" and then give my own interpretation of the word.  My first inclination was to draw it.  The final outcome...

the elegant Poise fleur de lis.

JOURNEY TO TRUTH

Interpretive of an introspective time in my life, a journey to truth...reflected in the desire to live with the flowing freedom of  butterfly wings.  The water, inspired by one of my walks by the lake...the sky, inspired by the afterglow of a sunset on our horizon and, everyone should have a shining star in their life they will always hold dear to their heart.

BECAUSE, I LOVE YOU

A tribute Christmas gift to my mom and dad, Bob & Carol.  A fish in the scroll of the B for my dad's favorite hobby and the blue of  my mom's favorite color in the flower of the C.

CREATING A COMPANY LOGO

It started as a tiny sketch on a notecard and became the logo for Julebox Studios.  The letter "J" for Jules, the letter "S" for Studios and my last name, the "b" for box with the subtle hint of a fleur de lis blended in.  The richness of the color purple, my favorite versions of green signifying life and a gold band to bond it all together.

THE BUTTERFLY PALACE

This drawing became a mural for

The Butterfly Palace in Branson, Missouri.

An interactive social media photo opportunity, with the person to becoming the body of the butterfly.  Sketched in colored pencil first

and applied to the wall with acrylic paints.

The mural spans 11 ft. in height and width.

Finished in 2017
